Following up on their Monday presentation, the UCLA IMLab team will introduce “physical computing” as it can be used to create interfaces beyond the mouse, keyboard, and touchscreen for interpretive projects. We will demonstrate our open source person-tracking software, OpenPTrack, which enables multi-person tagless body-based interactions in large spaces (and soon, the outdoors). Participants will be able to explore how the tracking works and engage with demonstration interpretive projects created by students and others. After the demonstration, we will lead a collaborative design charette in which participants generate new ideas for how this and other types of physical computing could be used in many future interpretive contexts at State and National Parks.”
